Just in time for Halloween, Asylum is out now on Xbox Series X|S, and the digital edition is 20% off for launch. SOEDESCO and developer Senscape released the horror adventure on 30 October 2026, and there’s a physical edition too, but only in the US.
On the Microsoft Store, the launch discount brings the price down from £25.99 to £20.79 (US$29.99 down to US$23.99). The press release gives no end date, but the store listing shows the offer running until 13 November. Asylum on Xbox Series X|S also supports Xbox Play Anywhere, so one digital purchase covers your console and Xbox on PC.
Check in to Hanwell
Asylum is a supernatural psychological horror game set in the Hanwell Mental Institute. SOEDESCO says it’s inspired by Lovecraftian fiction and classic horror cinema. It’s an adventure, horror and point-and-click game, and the store listing says you play an ex-patient suffering bizarre visions, exploring the building and digging into its history.
- Length: around 10 hours, with hidden mysteries and secrets to uncover.
- Puzzles: challenging ones that reward careful observation and exploration.
- Soundtrack: inspired by classic 80s horror films and the work of John Carpenter.
- Scares: built around suspense and atmosphere, with only a handful of carefully placed jump scares.
Good news if you’d rather be unsettled than shouted at, then. There are 19 achievements worth 1,000 Gamerscore, according to Exophase, and most of them are earned simply by surviving another hour inside the institute.
