Ubisoft will share its next major update on Codename Hexe in 2027. It confirmed the timing in its Assassin’s Creed Fall 2026 Update, which also explains how Codename Invictus, the series’ multiplayer project, is changing after its first round of player testing.
Codename Hexe
Ubisoft describes Hexe as a darker Assassin’s Creed experience. The team is “making steady progress”, though Ubisoft says “there is still work ahead of us”. It thanked fans for their patience, acknowledging that the wait has been long, and says the team remains focused on delivering the unique vision at the heart of the project.
The Hexe section of the post ends with two lines of scrambled text, which Ubisoft hasn’t explained.
Codename Invictus
Invictus is Ubisoft’s multiplayer Assassin’s Creed. A few months ago, hundreds of players joined its first private Insiders Session, played an early prototype and gave feedback directly to the development team.
Ubisoft says the response to the return of player-versus-player multiplayer was very positive. Insiders particularly liked the parkour and verticality of the maps, the dynamic teamplay, and the chance to play as various Assassin’s Creed characters, each with their own skills and playstyles.
One piece of feedback came through clearly: players saw great potential in the foundations but wanted more of the pillars that define Assassin’s Creed. The team has spent the past months acting on that, and Ubisoft says Invictus is now evolving in a direction that better reflects those pillars while staying true to its multiplayer ambitions.
Invictus is still in development, and Ubisoft warns that information about it found online may be incomplete, outdated or inaccurate. It plans to keep testing new versions and will share more when it can.
