Ubisoft Has No Other Assassin’s Creed Remake in Development

Ubisoft says it has no other Assassin's Creed remake in development after Black Flag Resynced, but it's keeping the door open to revisiting classics.

Ubisoft currently has no other Assassin’s Creed remake in development. The publisher confirmed it in its Assassin’s Creed Fall 2026 Update, responding to questions from fans that it says have grown since Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced launched.

What Ubisoft said

“One thing we want to be transparent about today is that we currently have no other Assassin’s Creed remake actively in development,” Ubisoft wrote. Its teams are already focused on the next chapter of Assassin’s Creed games, including projects that haven’t been announced yet, with new settings and stories.

It isn’t ruling remakes out. Ubisoft says it loves the idea of revisiting classic games and will keep exploring opportunities to bring older ones back. “That door remains open because, after all… Nothing is true, everything is permitted.”

Lessons from Black Flag Resynced

Black Flag Resynced was the series’ first remake, and Ubisoft says it taught the team “a tremendous amount”. Rebuilding old systems from scratch, adding new elements and balancing legacy with innovation was, in Ubisoft’s words, “a massive undertaking”. It says it’s proud of what the team delivered and how well the game was received.

The game has just had its final major update, with quality-of-life updates to follow over the coming months. It’s on Xbox Series X|S, and you’ll find the essentials in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced: everything we know.
