Fortnite is Epic Games’ free-to-play live-service game on Xbox. Here is everything we know so far for Xbox players. For the key facts at a glance, visit our Fortnite game hub.

What is Fortnite on Xbox?

Fortnite is free to play on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. It is also available through Xbox Cloud Gaming and as an Xbox Play Anywhere title (Xbox consoles and the Xbox app on PC). Under one Epic account it includes:

  • Battle Royale – Building and Zero Build matches, plus modes such as Fortnite OG and Reload
  • Creative / UEFN – player- and developer-made experiences
  • LEGO Fortnite
  • Fortnite Festival
  • Racing (Rocket Racing)

Seasons and chapters regularly reshape the map, loot and featured modes. Developer and publisher: Epic Games. Original Xbox release: 25 July 2017.

Get it on the Xbox Store.

Fortnite Crew and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

Fortnite Crew is Epic’s monthly subscription. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate includes Fortnite Crew, so Ultimate members receive the current Crew benefits without a separate Crew subscription. Standalone Crew stays at £9.99 / $11.99 a month.

From 5 December 2026, Epic is changing Crew. Full detail is in Epic’s official Fortnite news post and on the Fortnite Crew page.

More V-Bucks by tenure

Monthly V-Bucks start at 1,000 and rise with continuous subscription, up to 1,600 after 12 months:

  • Core (1–2 months): 1,000 V-Bucks
  • Bronze (3–5 months): 1,200 V-Bucks
  • Silver (6–11 months): 1,400 V-Bucks
  • Gold (12+ months): 1,600 V-Bucks

That replaces the previous 800 V-Bucks a month. If you have been subscribed recently and resubscribe between 6 December and 31 December 2026 at 11:59 PM ET, your starting tier reflects your most recent continuous subscription over the past 12 months. Existing subscribers do not need to take action when the changes roll out.

XP boosts

Crew members get +20% Fortnite XP. Party members without Crew get +10% XP while playing with a Crew member. The boosts do not stack with each other.

Crew Packs end; Legacy Styles in December

Monthly Crew Pack outfits are ending, and December’s pack is the final one. Epic will grant all Legacy Styles for Crew Packs you already own in December, whether or not you are currently subscribed. The final December Crew Pack goes to subscribers throughout December.

OG Pass ends 5 December

The OG Pass ends on 5 December 2026 with the conclusion of Chapter 1: OG Season X. Epic says the next era of Fortnite OG is planned for late 2027.

What stays included

Crew still includes the Fortnite Battle Pass, Music Pass, LEGO Pass and Rocket Pass Premium. Pass lineup through the end of the year, per Epic:

  • 12 November 2026: Music Mini-Pass
  • 5 December 2026: LEGO Mini-Pass and Fortnite Battle Pass

Is Fortnite on Game Pass?

Fortnite itself is free to download and is not a Game Pass library title. Fortnite Crew benefits are included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Does Fortnite have Xbox achievements?

There is no confirmed Xbox achievements list or Gamerscore for Fortnite. The Xbox Store product does not list achievements as a capability.
