What is The Planet Crafter?
You’re stranded on a hostile, barren planet. You gather resources, build a base and craft machines that raise heat, oxygen and pressure, gradually turning a lifeless rock into a world fit for humans. As the atmosphere changes, water, plants, insects and animals appear and new technologies unlock. There are no enemies or timers, and along the way you uncover wrecks, secrets and the story of Sentinel Corp. Xbox Wire has more on its pressure-free approach to survival.
When did it release on Xbox?
The Planet Crafter launched on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC on 21 July 2026, according to Xbox Wire and the Xbox Store listing.
Is The Planet Crafter on Game Pass?
Yes. It joined Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium and PC Game Pass on launch day, per Xbox Wire, and the Xbox Store still lists it with those plans.

How does multiplayer work?
You can play solo or in online co-op with up to eight players, and the Store listing confirms crossplay.
DLC and updates
- Skeo (free): a terraformable moon added on 1 September 2026. To reach it, fully terraform a starting planet, then build the Extraction Platform and the Interplanetary Travel Rocket. It works with existing saves.
- Magnetaris (paid, 8 December 2026): a large, hostile planet ravaged by electrical storms and strong magnetic fields. You’ll need new technologies and machinery to stabilise those fields while terraforming, with new biomes, anomalies, remnants of human activity and more of Sentinel Corp’s story. You can travel there through the interplanetary travel system or start a new save on it, solo or in co-op. Miju Games has priced it at $9.99.
