Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector

Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector is a turn-based strategy game developed by Black Lab Games and published by Slitherine, set amid the endless war of the 41st Millennium. Its single-player campaign, Age of Crimson Dawn, runs to 20 missions and picks up after the Devastation of Baal, as Sergeant Carleon and his allies fight to purge a Tyranid infestation from Baal Secundus and uphold the honour of the Blood Angels.

Outside the campaign, Skirmish lets you pick both factions, the map and your full army list, with Exterminatus, Conqueror and Strategic Command objectives. Planetary Supremacy, added in a free update, is a conquest-style campaign of procedurally generated skirmish battles where you capture territory and resources to grow your army. Each faction has its own Momentum system that can Surge units into chains of extra actions, Command Points call in air support such as the Blood Angels’ Stormraven or the Tyranid Harpy, and live multiplayer lets you take on a friend.

Battlesector launched on Xbox One on 2 December 2021 and also plays on Xbox Series X|S. Slitherine says its 1.8.0 update on 29 October 2026 brought Xbox Play Anywhere support, with the game and owned DLC downloadable through the Xbox app on PC, shared saves and achievement progress, and live multiplayer between PC and Xbox console players. The Microsoft Store listing now includes a PC version, though it doesn’t yet carry the Play Anywhere label.
