When did Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade come out on Xbox?

It launched on Xbox on 22 January 2026, and it’s out now.

Is Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on Game Pass?

Yes. It joined Game Pass on Thursday 29 October 2026 and is included with Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium and PC Game Pass. You can play it on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and in the cloud. It was the headline game in Game Pass October 2026 Wave 2, and our Game Pass launch news covers the 29 October arrivals. It isn’t part of Game Pass Essential.

How much does it cost?

The standard edition is £39.99 or $39.99. The Digital Deluxe Edition is £54.99 or $59.99 and adds a digital art book and a digital mini-soundtrack. Both are Xbox Play Anywhere games.

What is the story?

Mako, the lifeblood of the planet, is also a valuable energy source, and the Shinra Electric Power Company has all but seized control of the world by draining it to fuel its reactors. In the city of Midgar, a group of idealists called Avalanche fights back.

Cloud Strife, an ex-SOLDIER turned mercenary, joins Avalanche on a mission to blow up Mako Reactor 1. As the blast sets the city ablaze, a fallen nemesis from Cloud’s past appears, challenging his memories and his identity.

It’s a partial remake of Final Fantasy VII, first released in 1997, and the first game in a multi-part series. It reimagines the Midgar portion of the story.

How does it play?

  • Combat: a battle system that blends fast real-time action with strategic, command-based choices. Swap between characters, use materia, call summons and unleash limit breaks.
  • Party: Cloud is joined by Barret, Tifa and Aerith.
  • Expanded Midgar: quests, mini-games and missions in expanded areas of the city, with new characters.
  • Music: a remastered, re-arranged soundtrack that responds to the action.

What is FF7R EPISODE INTERmission?

A side story included with Intergrade. You play as Yuffie Kisaragi, a young ninja from Wutai, as she infiltrates Midgar to steal the ultimate materia from Shinra. It runs in parallel to Cloud’s journey. Intergrade also comes with bonus weapons, armour, accessories and summoning materia (Carbuncle, Chocobo Chick and Cactuar), collected from the Gift Box in the main menu.

Is Final Fantasy VII Remake coming to Final Fantasy XIV?

Yes, as a raid series. Beyond the Lifestream is a new eight-player raid series in Final Fantasy XIV Online, part of its Evercold expansion and a crossover with the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy. Square Enix revealed it alongside Final Fantasy VII Remake series director Naoki Hamaguchi, and the two teams are working on it together. At Fan Festival 2026, it showed new Beyond the Lifestream art from Tetsuya Nomura.

Evercold launches on Xbox Series X|S on Tuesday 23 February 2027. There’s more in our Evercold news story and Final Fantasy XIV Online: Everything We Know.

Who makes it?

Square Enix develops and publishes it.

We’ll keep this page updated, and our Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade hub has everything in one place. For more on what’s arriving soon, see our Game Pass coming soon list.
