What is Black Flag Resynced?
You play as Edward Kenway, captain of the Jackdaw, in the Caribbean during the Golden Age of Piracy. The remake rebuilds combat around parries and takedowns, improves stealth, parkour and naval combat, and adds new story content, including storylines for Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet, three officers who join your crew, sea shanties, pets and a photo mode. It’s Ubisoft’s first Assassin’s Creed remake.
Is Black Flag Resynced getting more updates?
Not major ones. In its Assassin’s Creed Fall 2026 Update on 29 October, Ubisoft said Title Update 1.0.8 “marks the end of our current plans for additional major content”. The team will follow up with quality-of-life updates over the coming months.
What’s in the final major update?
Title Update 1.0.8 went live on 27 October. It adds:
- New Game+: gear, weapons, trinkets, Jackdaw upgrades, pets, currency, outfits, hideout and Kenway Fleet progression carry over, while the story, quests, map discovery and forts reset. You can go up to New Game+ 5, with an extra difficulty modifier each run.
- Nightmare Mode: harder combat, stealth, naval encounters and activities, each of which can be set separately.
- New rewards: Blackbeard’s outfit, Edward’s London attire and new customisation for the Jackdaw and its crew, plus new finishers and trinkets.
