Gothic 1 Remake Feature Update 1 Adds Photo Mode and Marvin Mode on Xbox

Gothic 1 Remake has its first Feature Update, and it’s out now on Xbox Series X|S for free. It adds a Photo Mode, the series’ Marvin Mode cheat tool and new Brotherhood customisation for the Nameless Hero.

Feature Update 1 is version 1.1 of the game. Alongside the new modes, it brings gameplay tweaks and a long list of quest fixes from developer Alkimia Interactive and publisher THQ Nordic.

Photo Mode

Photo Mode is opened from the pause menu and comes with a range of options for setting up shots of the Colony and the Valley of Mines.

Marvin Mode

Marvin Mode is the official Gothic cheat mode, and it gives players access to a range of settings. It can open a lock you can’t pick, teleport you around the map, or spawn items, characters and creatures, so you can tweak the game to suit how you want to play.

Join the Brotherhood

As a member of the Swamp Camp, the Nameless Hero can now get a new haircut and tattoos as part of a Brotherhood customisation feature. You can also now sit on a bench and wait.

Other changes and fixes

• More sound reactions
• Better stats for crafted weapons
• A new death animation when you take damage in water
• Equipping two identical rings now works as expected
• Logic checks now include items in the player’s pouch
• Location and enemy journal entries that weren’t unlocking have been fixed
• Green Goblins now carry clubs and swords, and Goblin Warriors carry morning stars
• Saturas no longer sells the Water Mages Robe twice
• Chapter 1: a blocker in the “Aaron Chest” quest when solved in an alternative order is fixed
• Chapter 2: Gor Na Dun’s reaction in combat during the trial in “The Minecrawler Nest” is fixed
• Chapter 3: fallbacks added for Lester, Milten and Gorn if you already have their focus stone before the focus quest starts
• Chapter 4: golem corpses can be interacted with from all angles, and Urshak now appears in the Ruined Castle after “Find The Orc Shaman” is triggered
• Chapter 6: Mad Kalom’s combat behaviour, navigation and attacks have been polished

Gothic 1 Remake is also discounted on the Microsoft Store. It’s £37.49 / $44.99, down from £49.99 / $59.99, until 5 November.
