Mutant Football League 2, the brutal 8-on-8 arcade football game from Digital Dreams Entertainment, has been out on Xbox Series X|S since 10 December 2025. GWAR’s Antarctica Scumdogs team arrived on 27 October 2026. Here’s everything we know about the game and its DLC.

What is Mutant Football League 2?
It’s a darkly comic, 8-on-8 arcade football game. Teams of mutated super-humans, monstrous orcs, skeletal Deadheads and armoured BruiserBots play in fantastical arenas packed with deadly traps and hazards, such as buzzsaws and giant mutant worms. Referees can get blown up, and fumbles can end with a player exploding. Dirty Trick plays let teams commit bannable atrocities.
Is Mutant Football League 2 on Xbox?
Yes. It’s out now on Xbox Series X|S for £20.99 / $24.99. It isn’t on Game Pass, and it isn’t an Xbox Play Anywhere game. You can play solo, with a second player on the same console, or online.
Which teams can you play as?
There are more than 36 teams: 32 pro-league sides, such as the Karcass City Creeps, Killadelphia Evils and Blitzburgh Steelheads, and four minor-league teams, including the Orcs of Hazards and Tokyo Terminators. MFL player cards unlock historic players you can sign in Free Agency, or you can create an original team.
What modes and features are there?
- Season: a single-player season mode.
- Dynasty Supreme: the franchise mode. You start at the bottom of the league, draft rookies every season, train them up and chase Mayhem Bowl wins.
- Online multiplayer: take your team on other players.
- Mutations: evolve players to unlock armour sets, mutations and weapons such as chainsaws and shotguns, and use SkillRoid Boosts for special abilities during a game.
- Doom Field Designer: design your team’s arena, placing hazards such as buzzsaws and fire geysers, and set the weather.
- Commentary: Tim Kitzrow calls the plays.
What DLC is there?
The Lil’ Flip Cloverland Kingz Team Pack (£4.19 / $4.99) adds a team led by the Houston rapper, the Clover Dome Stadium with buzzsaws, spikes, blood geysers and mutant traps, and six original tracks.
GWAR: Antarctica Scumdogs (£5.79 / $6.99) came out on 27 October 2026. It adds a team featuring all seven members of the metal band, the Puke-O-Plex Death Arena set in GWAR’s mythical temple in Antarctica, five original GWAR songs, an in-game GWAR Mythos feature and the band’s “Tyrant King” music video. “In Mutant Football League dying isn’t everything, it’s the only thing!” said Blöthar the Berserker. Both packs need the base game.
