Threads of Time, the time-travelling turn-based RPG from Riyo Games and Balor Games, now has a launch window: it’s coming to Xbox Series X|S in summer 2027.

The two studios confirmed the window alongside a new release window reveal trailer for Threads of Time. It’s the clearest timing yet for a game that’s been on the Xbox Store without a date.

A journey across the ages

Threads of Time is a turn-based RPG inspired by classic JRPGs. Its time-travelling story runs from an age when dinosaurs roamed to the far-flung future, with alternate realms along the way. You’ll gather a party of heroes from different eras, restore the ancient Order of the Time Knights and follow a sinister plot that threatens the past, present and future.

The studios describe the team behind it as “an all-star team of RPG visionaries”.

Bending time in battle

Combat is strategic and turn-based. You weave attacks together, bend time to break through enemy defences and unleash team combos with your party. The 2.5D presentation combines hand-crafted 2D pixel-art characters with environments built in Unreal Engine 5.
