What is Roco Kingdom?
Roco Kingdom is an open-world creature collector. You play as a Roco, setting out across the magical continent of Carosia to meet, catch and bond with creatures called Jinies. Alongside exploring, you attend classes at the Magic Academy, build your own home, take on PvE battles and duel other players.
It’s the newest entry in Tencent’s long-running Roco Kingdom series, which started life as a browser game in China.
Who is making Roco Kingdom?
Morefun Studios is developing and publishing it. Morefun is one of the four core studios under Tencent Games.
Is Roco Kingdom coming to Xbox?
Yes. Roco Kingdom has an Xbox Store page where you can wishlist it now. The listing covers Xbox Series X|S and PC, but Xbox Play Anywhere hasn’t been confirmed. It’s rated PEGI 7.
There’s no release date or launch window yet. Morefun has only said the date will be announced later.
Is the closed beta on Xbox?
No. The “Quack Quack Test” is the game’s first global closed beta, and it went live on 27 October at 04:30 GMT. It’s invite-only, Xbox wasn’t an option when sign-ups were open, and those sign-ups have now closed. If you pre-register on the official site, you can still be picked for extra test access.
Testers get a segment of the main story, open-world exploration and a range of battle modes. The beta has more than 210 Jinies to catch, including two Legendary Jinies and 16 Chromatic variants. There are no in-game purchases during the test, and all progress is wiped when it ends.
How many Jinies are there?
More than 400 at launch. Every Jini is one of a kind, varying in height, size and weight, as well as talent, personality, colour and specialty. A Jini’s personality affects its stats and behaviour, and its bloodline decides which skills it can learn. Some can also appear in rare prismatic, chromatic or nightmare-corrupted forms.
Is Roco Kingdom free-to-play, and is it pay-to-win?
It’s free-to-play, and Morefun promises there’s no pay-to-win. It says no Jinies will be locked behind paywalls and all story content can be unlocked for free.
The same idea applies to PvP. Battles are turn-based, Jini levels are equalised, and an 18-class counter system means victory comes down to matchups and skills rather than stats.
Does Roco Kingdom have cross-platform play?
Yes. The Xbox version supports online multiplayer for two to four players, plus Xbox cross-platform multiplayer, and Morefun describes seamless cross-platform party-ups with friends. Together you can hold hands to share gathering rewards and battle EXP, co-ride a Jini, visit each other’s homes, farm and decorate.
How big was the China launch?
The game launched in China on 26 March 2026 as Roco Kingdom: World, and it reached 15 million players within 13 hours of launch.
“Following its acclaimed release in China last March, we are very excited to bring the beloved Roco Kingdom to global audiences starting today with the closed beta test,” said Xiaoye, the game’s narrative director and localisation lead.
