Pit of Goblin is a co-op survival extraction game about being the lowest of the low: a goblin sent into crumbling crypts and caverns to find food for a ravenous ruler. Its Xbox launch is the full 1.0 release.
When is the Pit of Goblin release date?
Pit of Goblin launches on Tuesday 3 November 2026. Xbox confirmed the date in its Game Pass October Wave 2 announcement on Xbox Wire, and Friendly Foe repeated it on X on 22 October. The Microsoft Store listing gives a release time of 14:00 GMT.
Is Pit of Goblin on Game Pass?
Yes, day one. Xbox Wire lists it for cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC, in Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium and PC Game Pass. That makes it one of the more widely available games in our Xbox Game Pass November 2026 line-up.
Price and Play Anywhere
The Microsoft Store doesn’t show a price or pre-order yet. It does confirm Xbox Play Anywhere, so one purchase covers Xbox Series X|S and the Xbox PC app. There’s only one edition listed.
What kind of game is Pit of Goblin?
You and your goblin buddies dive into the Pit to scavenge food and valuables for the King Queen, whose belly is described as “a bottomless pit”. Every run is different, the challenge rises the deeper you go, and you still have to find your way back out alive.
The main tension is greed. You can hand your food to the King Queen, eat it yourself for stamina, or sell it to gear up for the next descent. Back in the goblin village, loot buys torches, lanterns and armour, and the curio shop sells communication stones. Disappoint the King Queen, though, and that could be your downfall.
Key features
- Co-op for up to six: the Store lists 2–6 player online co-op, and Friendly Foe confirmed six-goblin squads for 1.0. You can also play solo or matchmake with strangers.
- Proximity voice chat: for whispering plans or screaming in the dark.
- Friendly fire and traps: fire can light your way or set your friends alight, so watch your step.
- Spooky locations: castles, crypts and mines, plus new 1.0 biomes including the Undergrowth and the Great Library.
- Magic: Friendly Foe’s 1.0 announcement also promises Magic Books and Spells.
Friendly Foe says the game has sold more than 200,000 copies so far.
Is there cross-play?
Possibly soon. Friendly Foe posted on 23 October that “Cross-play is coming to the Pit soon” but didn’t give details or a date. The Store listing does include cross-platform co-op, so we’ll update this once the studio confirms how it works on Xbox.
