Square Enix has released a new media kit for Romancing SaGa 3: Destinies United, showing five companions and several of the remake’s systems. The RPG launches on Xbox Series X|S on 16 February 2027, and the Xbox Store lists the Standard Edition at £54.99 / $59.99. Pre-orders have been open since 9 September 2026, so the news here is the detail, not the date.

Companions and systems

The Vol.02 kit, dated 26 October 2026, profiles five travelling companions and their English voice actors: The Minstrel (Yung-I Chang), Tatyana (Christina Assaf-Costello), Nora (Fryda Wolff), Muse (Ryan Bartley) and Charl (Mauricio Ortiz-Segura). Square Enix says more characters will follow. It also covers:

  • World Map: talking to people or setting out by ship unlocks new areas.
  • Renown: completing quests raises your rank, with perks such as more ability slots and expanded United Attacks.
  • Forging: spend aurums and materials at the Pidona Workshop. Recruiting scattered smiths expands what you can forge.
  • Equipment: two weapons per character. Heavier gear raises Defense but also encumberment, which can affect Speed.
  • Mr. S: each find earns a sticker, and every five unlock boons such as faster forges.

Battle changes

Square Enix shows two formations it calls new to the SaGa franchise. Triple Incisors boosts melee for the front three and ranged attacks for the back two. Rampaging Mammoth raises every unit’s Speed and gives the front unit extra defence after it acts. The kit also covers Technique Point (TP) growth, mastering techs, four abilities per character and ley lines that strengthen matching spells.

What the game is

It is a full 3D remake of the 1995 RPG, with eight protagonists. Our Romancing SaGa 3: Destinies United game hub has the essentials in one place.

Is Romancing SaGa 3: Destinies United coming to Game Pass?

Nothing we can find says so. The Xbox Store lists it as a paid pre-order, and neither Square Enix nor Xbox has announced a Game Pass deal. Our Xbox Game Pass tiers explained guide shows what each tier includes today.

Prices are the Xbox Store pre-order prices as of 26 October 2026 and can change before launch.
