Devolver Digital has set 12 November for BALL x PIT: Risen Ballbylon, a paid expansion that sends you up out of the pit instead of down it. It is billed as the biggest add-on yet for the roguelite.
BALL x PIT: Risen Ballbylon at a glance
- Release date: 12 November 2026, per Devolver
- Expansion price: $6.99, per Devolver; no Xbox Store price yet
- You need: BALL x PIT, finished
- Base game: £12.49 / $14.99
- Game Pass: base game in Premium and Ultimate
What is Risen Ballbylon?
The lift that took you down into the pit now goes up. Risen Ballbylon floats high above the abyss, and each level is a layer of the former city, populated by people warped by the meteor. Devolver’s announcement promises “fresh new gameplay mechanics”, and the content is only accessible after you complete the base game.
The reveal trailer
The trailer names the four new biomes: Flooded Sewers, Shadowed Alleys, Castle Ramparts and the Outstretched Spire.
What’s new
- Battlefields: four, each with its own boss, and more than 40 new enemies.
- Heroes: eight new characters. The Sentinel can aim in any direction, the Stonewaller’s balls warp to the other side of the arena the first time they hit a wall, and the Right Hand Man deals double damage off the right wall but half off the left.
- Balls: 24 new ones, including the Beast, which latches on until the enemy dies, the earthquake-causing Kaiju, the curse-spreading Misfortune and the spiky Hedgehog. The trailer adds new core balls: Water, Wood, Force and Beast.
- Passives: 45 new ones, according to the announcement (the trailer says 46).
- Base-building: 20 new buildings, including a Floating Fortress and a Circus Tent, plus a new resource: crystals.
Release date and price on Xbox
Devolver’s announcement lists Xbox among the platforms for the 12 November launch and gives a price of $6.99. We could not find a separate Xbox Store listing for the expansion yet, so there is no confirmed Xbox price in dollars or pounds. The Xbox Store’s listing for the base game calls The Naturalist Update the game’s final free update, so Risen Ballbylon is a paid extra.
Is it on Game Pass?
The base game is. The Xbox Store lists BALL x PIT as included with Game Pass Premium and Ultimate, and it costs £12.49 / $14.99 to buy (GBP listing, USD listing). Nobody has said the expansion is included, so assume you buy it separately. Our Xbox Game Pass tiers explained guide shows what each tier gets, and the BALL x PIT game hub has the essentials.
What we still want to know
The Xbox Store listing and price. The trailer also says Risen Ballbylon is “more challenging”, so the difficulty is worth watching.
Prices are Xbox Store prices as of 27 October 2026 and can change.
