Nine new Game Pass games, one S, one A and one trailer that lost me inside ten seconds. The latest Game Pass tier list is locked in, and Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade takes the top spot without a fight, Terrible Lizards is the surprise of the batch, and Pit of Goblin props up the bottom. Overall grade for this lot? A B.
Every game here is part of Game Pass October 2026 Wave 2, landing between 21st October and 3rd November. Quick reminder of how I rank: S is a must-play even if it isn’t your genre, A means I’ll give it a proper go, B is worth checking out, C is not likely, and D means I won’t play it.
S tier
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade
Cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC · 29th October · Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass
The big one, and there isn’t much to say. I’ve already paid full price for it: I bought it as soon as it was available on Xbox, and it plays well. Yes, I still hate the name. Intergrade means you get the Yuffie episode on top of the main game, so fill your boots. This is 100%, no questions asked, S tier.
It’s no shock either, with the rest of the Final Fantasy series steadily dropping onto Game Pass. And here’s my prediction: we get Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on Game Pass early next year, ahead of the final part of the trilogy landing on Xbox.
A tier
Terrible Lizards
Cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC · 29th October · Ultimate and PC Game Pass · Day one
The game that took me by surprise the most. I had no idea Terrible Lizards existed, and the trailer sold me completely. It’s a horror parkour game, the debut from WDR Studios, and you escape threats by moving rather than fighting back. The atmosphere looks cool, it’s another one for Halloween, and of the games we didn’t already know about, it’s the most interesting in the batch by a distance. An A, all day.
B tier
Mouthwashing
Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, Handheld and PC · 29th October · Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass
What a name for a game. Wrong Organ’s psychological horror strands the five crew of the Tulpar in deep space, and it’s done in that PS1-style look I love. My only worry is that style is starting to get a bit overdone. Still, a horror game right before Halloween? Perfect fit for Game Pass in October. It was a B straight away, sits top of the Bs, and I’ll be playing it on the 29th.
Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted
Cloud, Console and PC · 29th October · Ultimate and PC Game Pass
I was very, very close to picking this up on day one. I love Plants vs. Zombies; it’s a nice chill-out game. Then the reviews came, and it felt like a generic remaster. A couple of patches have helped since. I’ll play it more than Dodo Duckie, but definitely not more than Mouthwashing. So, bang: middle of the Bs.
Dodo Duckie
Cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC · 22nd October · Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass
Let’s get it out of the way: the name is stupid, and it put me off straight away. The game itself is a puzzle platformer where you switch instantly between 2D and 3D, which is genuinely cool looking. It looks a bit cheap and needs more polish, and I wouldn’t have bought it unless it was on a deep sale. But the trailer did enough. This is a proper Game Pass title: intriguing enough to give it a go, not “oh my god, I need to play this”. A B.
C tier
The Séance of Blake Manor
Cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC · 27th October · Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass
Probably the most atmospheric game in the batch, and the art style is brilliant. It’s a supernatural detective mystery set in 1897 Ireland, investigating a disappearance at a remote hotel, so I’m intrigued. But that’s where it ends for me: it just doesn’t have the pull. It’s a C, but I’m more likely to play it than the other Cs, so it sits at the top. If I get bored later in the month, I might give it a go.
Scramble Knights Online
Cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC · 26th October · Ultimate and PC Game Pass · Game Preview, day one
The premise is cool: it looks like an online, multiplayer Zelda, and the art style is lovely. But MMOs aren’t my thing anymore. If I were 15 or 20 years younger, I’d have been all over it. It’s a C, though it goes above Sandustry because you can actually play it on Xbox right now.
Sandustry
PC · 21st October · Game Preview · Now in Premium, already in Ultimate and PC Game Pass
This hurts. A pixel factory sim where every pixel is a resource in a fully destructible world is 100% up my street. I love factory building, and if this were on Xbox console I’d have it at a B-plus or A-minus. But it’s PC only on Game Pass, so it drops. It’s not a D, because I really want to play it. It’s a C for now, and since it looks like it plays fine on a controller, I’m hoping for an Xbox port down the line.
D tier
Pit of Goblin
Cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC · 3rd November · Ultimate, Premium and PC Game Pass
The game could be really good, but the trailer is horrific. It’s an online co-op horror game where you scavenge dungeons as a goblin, and I only know that because I read it afterwards; the trailer left me completely and utterly confused. There are so many games out now that a trailer has to grab you, and this one lost me. Harsh, but it’s a D. Am I wrong? Tell me.
The overall grade: B
One S, one A, a solid set of Bs, too many Cs, and Terrible Lizards and Pit of Goblin roughly cancel each other out. That’s a B for this Game Pass update. Not a classic, but anything with Final Fantasy VII Remake in it starts from a strong position.
