What is Winter Burrow?
It’s a cosy survival game. You play as a mouse who comes home from the big city to find their childhood burrow in ruins and their aunt missing. You venture into the frozen woods to gather resources, craft tools, knit sweaters and bake pies, restore and decorate the burrow, make friends with the locals and look into what happened to your aunt. It’s designed to be played at your own pace.
Who makes it, and when did it come out on Xbox?
Pine Creek Games develops it, and Noodlecake publishes it. It came out on Xbox on 12 November 2025, and it’s on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. You’ll find it on the Xbox Store.
Is Winter Burrow leaving Game Pass?
Yes. Winter Burrow leaves Xbox Game Pass on Sunday 15 November 2026. It’s in the Leaving soon section of Game Pass in the Xbox app, and the Game Pass data on its Xbox Store listing ends its access on the morning of 16 November (UK time), so 15 November is the last full day to play. Until then it’s included with Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium and PC Game Pass. Xbox hadn’t announced this batch on Xbox Wire when we checked on 2 November 2026; TrueAchievements reports the same date.
For the full list, see our story: GoldenEye 007 and 13 More Games Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass. Once it leaves, you’ll need to buy Winter Burrow to keep playing, but any achievements you’ve unlocked stay on your profile.
Is it on Xbox Cloud Gaming and Xbox Play Anywhere?
You can stream it with Xbox Cloud Gaming while it’s in Game Pass. It’s also an Xbox Play Anywhere game, so one purchase covers Xbox consoles and PC through the Xbox PC app, with shared progress. The Store lists Xbox cloud saves.
How many achievements does Winter Burrow have?
Winter Burrow has 32 achievements worth 1,000 Gamerscore, according to TrueAchievements. The TrueAchievements walkthrough estimates 8 to 10 hours for the full list. None are missable.
Everything we’ve written about the game is in one place on our Winter Burrow hub, and we’ll keep this page updated if anything changes.
