What is it?
You play Ashter, a Slavic fire mage who wields time, arriving in a village where reality has been warped and the villagers have left only smouldering hearths behind. Bonding with bonfires reveals hidden traces, mythical beings and echoes of past events, and fully kindled fires become gateways for time travel.
The story spans four seasons separated by many years, so you’ll see the same villagers at different stages of their lives, during major Slavic festivals. IMGN.PRO says the game was made over eight years by a two-person Polish team, with historical buildings and museum objects brought in through photogrammetry. There’s full English and Polish voice acting.
Duncan has been playing it, and our review is on the way.
