Queen’s Domain launched on Xbox on 30 October 2026. Our news story on the launch is Queen’s Domain is out now on Xbox Series X|S.

What is Queen’s Domain?

It’s a retro-fantasy action RPG with brutal combat and traversal-based exploration. You wash up on the shores of the Isle of Neasied searching for your missing father, and set out to uncover the dark heart of the island. In the publisher’s words, “the sleeping Queen has begun to stir”.

Future Friends Games describes it as FromSoft-inspired, and the press quotes it shared at launch compare it to King’s Field.

When did it come out, and on which Xbox platforms?

Queen’s Domain launched on 30 October 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, according to the Xbox Store listing. It’s a digital release, and the Store lists it for Xbox Series X|S only.

Is Queen’s Domain on Game Pass or Xbox Play Anywhere?

No to both. It isn’t in the Game Pass library, and no Game Pass release has been announced. It isn’t an Xbox Play Anywhere title either: the Store listing only has a console version, so it’s a straight Xbox Series X|S purchase.

How much does Queen’s Domain cost?

It’s £16.74 / $19.99 on the Xbox Store. A launch discount is running on the Store until 6 November 2026.

How does it play?

The headline trick is the Legendary Holy Sword Endu, which lets you fly from platform to platform. Upgrade it and you can fly further. The island is one interconnected, labyrinthine world full of secrets and dangers. According to Future Friends Games, you get:

  • Combat: a classic stamina meter, charge attacks, weapon-specific special attacks and secondary throwing weapons
  • Weapons: more than 50 melee weapons to find, equip and upgrade, plus over 20 types of throwing weapon
  • Levelling: earn XP to level up, and eat food to boost your stats further
  • Enemies: over 100 enemies, mini-bosses and bosses
  • Length: dozens of hours of adventuring. The launch press release puts typical playtime at 40-plus hours

What’s the latest news?

Future Friends Games marked launch day with a set of beginner’s tips on Xbox Wire. Its advice: practise dashing with your sword, learn enemy attack patterns, take the path less trodden, and level up your favourite weapon if you get stuck.

The publisher also says the game racked up 300,000 wishlists after it was revealed in December 2025, and that coverage from creator Iron Pineapple has passed 2.2 million views. It was also in our new Xbox games this week round-up.

What’s next for Queen’s Domain?

Freshly Baked Games and Future Friends Games haven’t announced any post-launch updates or extra content for Xbox yet. We’ll add them here when they do.

Who is making it?

Freshly Baked Games is Eric and Bradley, a US-based indie duo who previously made The New Flesh and started work on Queen’s Domain in mid-2023, according to the Future Friends Games press kit. Future Friends Games publishes it; its other games include CloverPit, Slots & Daggers and Exo One.

Everything we’ve written about the game is in one place on our Queen’s Domain hub, and we’ll keep this page updated as Future Friends Games shares more.
