Frontier’s Halloween add-on for Planet Coaster 2 is out now on Xbox Series X|S, and the Spooktacular Pack brings more than ghouls and pumpkins. Its headline feature is a brand-new attraction type: Walkthrough Attractions.
Planet Coaster 2: Spooktacular Pack at a glance
- Out: now (29 October 2026)
- Price: £14.99 / $18.99
- You need: Planet Coaster 2
- Adds: Walkthrough Attractions, seven rides, over 700 scenery pieces, three entertainers
- Game Pass: base game yes, pack no
Walkthrough Attractions
For the first time in Planet Coaster 2, you can build your own walk-through experiences scene by scene and decide how guests react at each moment, whether that is a suspenseful scare, a magical encounter or a thrilling adventure. Frontier says the feature works with the base game’s themes and earlier packs too, so it is not just for haunted houses. You can start from scratch or from a blueprint; the update notes list more than 30.
Guests respond to four atmospheres: scary, funny, exciting and interesting. Overdo the scary scenery, though, and they will panic and leave early.
The launch trailer
The seven rides
- Spectre: a modular launch coaster from Big M’s Rides with multi-launches.
- Sledge: a classic wild mouse-style coaster.
- Bosetti: an inverted, rotating dark ride.
- The Huntsman: a tracked ride.
- Ballista: a swinging gondola that doesn’t go upside down.
- Rumpus Room: a topsy-turvy chamber that does.
- Horror Heights: a flat ride that sends guests up and then screaming back down.
Scenery, characters and spooky brands
There are more than 700 scenery pieces across the new Spooktacular theme and the returning Spooky theme, from crumbling crypts and graveyards to animatronics and monstrous façades. You also get 29 ambient sounds, over 90 sound effects, 14 music tracks and 20 special effects such as bats, lightning and slime.
Three ghostly entertainers roam your park: Wigglebones, King Ghoster and Queen Scream. Familiar in-game brands get Halloween makeovers too, including Chief Teeth, Ghoulpee, Cosmic Cow Scare Shakes, Just a Boo-mento and Scream Emporium.
