Original Xbox games have started turning up in players’ achievement lists on Xbox consoles, weeks before any official rollout. Screenshots shared on X show classic backward-compatible games sitting alongside Xbox 360 and Xbox One titles on the console’s achievements page, each showing 0 achievements and 0/0 Gamerscore.
Xbox has not announced a date, and none of the games spotted so far have actual achievement lists. But it is the first visible sign of a feature Xbox confirmed back in July.
What players are seeing
The earliest post we found is from Gramiliki (@xgramiliki) on 22 October, showing Destroy All Humans! (2005) and Full Spectrum Warrior listed with original Xbox branding and 0/0 Gamerscore. The post, in Portuguese, says achievements for original Xbox games should arrive soon and points to the platform’s 25th anniversary in November.

On 25 October, Loredo Alles (@PiquenoLoredo) checked his own console and found the same thing, with Star Wars Republic Commando, Panzer Dragoon Orta and KOF Neowave all listed at 0/0.
Fui testar só agora e aparece aqui também. Já já chega às conquistas no jogos de Xbox OG

Pure Xbox has picked up the reports, naming Psychonauts, Destroy All Humans and Star Wars Republic Commando among the games showing up. French site Xboxygen says it saw several original Xbox games in the list on its own console. GamingBible reports that other players have also named The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.
Xbox has not commented on the listings. The entries could be groundwork for the update, or they could be showing up early by mistake. Either way, no achievements can be unlocked in these games yet.
What Xbox has actually confirmed
Xbox first confirmed achievements for original Xbox games on 22 July, in an Xbox Wire post from Jason Ronald, VP of Next Generation at Xbox. He wrote that “later this year” Xbox would bring achievements “to select original Xbox games on both console and PC”, and that the first four games would be updated “in the coming months”:
Oddly, none of those four seem to be among the games players have spotted. When asked on X whether the achievements would be backdated, Ronald replied “Not retroactively”, so progress made before the update will not count.
The timing fits with Xbox’s wider achievements overhaul. On 29 September, Xbox started testing Mythic Achievements with Xbox Insiders. A Mythic Achievement is awarded for completing all of a game’s original achievements. The same update added a new Gaming tab to Xbox profiles. Xbox says Mythic Achievements will roll out to everyone in the future.
Achievement hunter Stallion83 also posted on 1 October that original Xbox achievements were “coming very soon”.
The original Xbox turns 25 on 15 November. We’ll update this story when Xbox confirms which games are getting achievements and when.
