What is Dog Man: Bark in Action?
It’s a family platformer in the style of the Dog Man comics, with boss fights, gadgets that grant new abilities, comic-style sound effects and plenty of jokes. It’s Mindscape and Floor 84’s second Dog Man game together.
Is it on Xbox?
Yes. It’s out now on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and Smart Delivery means one purchase covers both. It isn’t on Game Pass.
What’s the story?
Dr. Scum has set up Hypno Screens around the city, mind-controlling the innocent townsfolk. It’s up to Dog Man, part dog and part man, to fight back against Dr. Scum and his minions, save his friends and rescue the city.
Who can you play as?
There are 10 playable characters. You switch between Dog Man and his Supa Buddies, Li’l Petey and 80-HD, each with their own abilities for getting past obstacles, and you can phone in friends such as Commander Cupcake and Chief for backup.
Does it have co-op?
Yes, local co-op for two players. The second player joins on the same screen with their own special abilities. It’s the first time a Dog Man game has had co-op.
How many levels are there?
Sixty, across six worlds based on places from the books such as Cat Jail and Robo-Time Industries. There are also Time Challenges against the clock and hidden Mystery Levels, and there are secret levels to sniff out.
What can you unlock?
Collect sprockets to unlock gadgets and yarn to craft outfits, including the Scarlet Shedder and Cat Kid.
Is there a demo?
Yes. The free demo on the Xbox Store has two levels, Robo-Time Industries and City Hall.
