What is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?
You play as Eivor, a Viking raider leading their clan from Norway’s icy coasts to the kingdoms of Dark Age England. Your choices shape the journey, from political alliances and combat tactics to dialogue and gear. Combat lets you dual wield axes, swords and even shields, use a bow or strike with the Hidden Blade, and between raids you build up your settlement with a barracks, smithy, tattoo parlour and more.
When is New Game+ coming to Valhalla?
New Game+ arrives on 5 November 2026. Ubisoft announced it in its Assassin’s Creed Fall 2026 Update on 29 October, calling it one of the community’s most requested features. It lets you start Eivor’s saga again while carrying over much of your progression, with dedicated NG+ scaling.
What else does the New Game+ update add?
- An optional progression mode where Gear, Runes and Masteries all count towards Eivor’s overall Power
- New runes, new achievements and a stash system
- New rewards, including a Master Assassin outfit inspired by Naoe’s look in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
- Mithril, a new resource for upgrading Divine Gear and strengthening runes
- Divine Gear quality for all items
Full patch notes and news on current-generation console updates are due in the coming days. We’ll add them here when Ubisoft publishes them. Our news story has more: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla gets New Game+ on 5 November.
How many people have played Valhalla?
Ubisoft says Valhalla has passed 40 million players. New Game+ is its way of celebrating that milestone.
Is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in Game Pass?
Yes. Valhalla is in Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass Premium. It isn’t in Game Pass Essential or PC Game Pass, and it doesn’t support Xbox Play Anywhere.
Will other Assassin’s Creed games get similar updates?
Ubisoft hasn’t committed to any. It says player feedback on Valhalla’s New Game+ update will help inform future discussions about bringing similar updates to other Assassin’s Creed games.
