What is Assassin’s Creed Odyssey?

Set during the Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta, from 431 to 422 BCE, it lets you choose to play as Alexios or Kassandra, a Spartan mercenary with a mysterious bloodline who fights on both sides of the conflict while searching for their family and taking on the mysterious Cult of Kosmos. Layla Hassan’s modern-day story continues from Origins.

The world spans the Greek mainland and dozens of islands, explored on foot, on horseback or aboard your own ship in naval battles. Combat, stealth and abilities can be built around your preferred play style, dialogue choices shape the story, and there are multiple endings. Developed by Ubisoft Quebec, it was released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on 5 October 2018.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey achievements

On Xbox, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has 93 achievements worth 1,850 Gamerscore: 50 (1,000G) in the base game and 43 (850G) from DLC and updates. By our average across several achievement and trophy guides, it rates 3/10 for difficulty, and a completion takes roughly 75 to 90 hours, mostly for the base game.

Aphrodite’s Embrace needs romance choices during the story. In The Fate of Atlantis, The Conqueror needs freed humans from all three regions when you win Elysium’s conquest.

Where it sits in the series

Odyssey follows Origins and is followed by Valhalla, the three games that make up the series’ role-playing era. Compared with other entries, it focuses more on myth and less on the Assassin and Templar conflict. By the release dates on our game hubs, it came after Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered (20 March 2018) and before Assassin’s Creed Rebellion (21 November 2018).
