Golf With Your Friends 2: Everything We Know

Golf With Your Friends 2 is Team17’s multiplayer mini golf sequel, and it’s now coming to Xbox in 2027. Here’s everything we know so far, from the release date and player count to Chaos Mode and the level editor.

What is Golf With Your Friends 2?

It’s the sequel to Golf With Your Friends, the chaotic party take on mini golf. Xbox Wire describes courses “jam-packed with moving hazards, tricky physics, and plenty of opportunities to test even the closest of friendships”. Team17 says it has doubled down on what made the original popular, adding more players, a new mode and a rebuilt course creator.

Who is making it?

Radical Forge is developing Golf With Your Friends 2, and Team17 is publishing it. Both are listed on the Xbox Store page.

When is the Golf With Your Friends 2 release date?

There isn’t one yet. The game was shown at the ID@Xbox Showcase in April 2026, when Xbox Wire said it was “launching Fall 2026 for Xbox Series X|S”. On 3 November 2026, Team17 posted on X: “We’re moving the release of Golf With Your Friends 2 from this fall to 2027.”

In its linked development update, the team says getting the full game ready “is taking longer than we expected”. It says it doesn’t have a specific 2027 date yet and will share one as soon as it’s locked in. Read our full story on the delay.

Which Xbox platforms is it coming to?

Golf With Your Friends 2 is coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC. The Xbox Store listing confirms Xbox Play Anywhere, so one purchase covers both, and it also lists achievements and cloud saves. Cloud gaming hasn’t been announced.

Is Golf With Your Friends 2 on Game Pass?

No Game Pass release has been announced. The Xbox Wire showcase recap didn’t list it for Game Pass, Team17 hasn’t mentioned it, and the Xbox Store listing isn’t tied to any Game Pass plan. We’ll update this if that changes.

How much will it cost?

Team17 hasn’t announced a price, and the Xbox Store page has no price or pre-order yet. You can add it to your wishlist from the listing.

How does multiplayer work?

Up to 12 players can play together. The Xbox Store listing shows single player, local multiplayer for 2 to 12 players, online multiplayer for 2 to 12 players and shared/split screen. Team17 also says the game supports cross-platform play, so “whether you’re playing locally or cross platform, everyone’s invited”.

What courses are there?

Golf With Your Friends 2 has six new courses, and Team17 says each one brings its own gameplay mechanic, from gravity shifts to traversal twists. Three have been shown so far:

• Skate Park (a working title): a beachfront and skate park course with crabs and sand traps.
• A fire and ice course: a snowy tundra around the base of several volcanoes.
• Bumper Station: an orbital outpost packed with bumpers, speed ramps, turbo engines and delivery bots. Its mechanics include Space Rails, Hologram Ramps activated by hitting Bolt Squares, and Anti-Gravity Ramps that turn the course upside down.

The returning Collision Mode from the original game lets players bounce and bash each other around the course. Team17’s Bumper Station reveal shows it in action.

What is Chaos Mode?

Chaos Mode is a new mode “where the courses fight back”. You putt through remixed versions of the courses, and Team17 says no two playthroughs are the same, so the players who adapt fastest come out on top.

Is there a level editor?

Yes. A revamped level editor (course creator) lets you design, customise and share your own courses with dynamic obstacles. Team17 says the editor is available on console as well as PC, so you can build courses on Xbox Series X|S too.

Customisation and unlocks

Ball customisation returns with hats, trails and floaties, plus new Hole Explosions: celebratory effects that go off when you sink a putt. Team17 says cosmetics are unlocked through play with a free-to-unlock rewards system, with no purchases required.
