Pit of Goblin 1.0 Is Out Today on Xbox and Straight Into Game Pass

Pit of Goblin hits 1.0 today on Xbox Series X|S, day one on Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming, with co-op for up to six goblins and an ending you can actually reach.

Pit of Goblin has crawled out of early access and into the light. The co-op dungeon game from Swedish indie studio Friendly Foe hits 1.0 today, Tuesday 3 November 2026, on Xbox Series X|S, and it’s on Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming from day one. It unlocks at 14:00 UK time, so plan your lunch break accordingly.

If you’ve not met it yet, you play a grubby little goblin sent down into the Pit to find food for the ever-hungry King-Queen. You can go solo, but the whole point is dragging up to five mates along with you, then setting them on fire, feeding them to monsters and calling it all glory for the King-Queen.

Day one on Game Pass

Xbox Wire lists Pit of Goblin for cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC, in Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium and PC Game Pass. That Premium bit is worth noting, as not every day-one arrival lands in the middle tier straight away.

The Xbox Store listing also confirms Xbox Play Anywhere, so if you buy it rather than play it through Game Pass, one purchase covers your Xbox Series X|S and the Xbox app on PC. It costs £6.99 / $7.99 to buy.

What’s in the 1.0 release?

Publisher Bright Gambit says the full release brings:

  • Co-op for up to six players: the Store lists online co-op for two to six goblins.
  • Randomised levels: with secret rooms and loot to sniff out.
  • Weapons, magic and throwables: handy for monsters, and even handier for “accidents”.
  • Proximity chat: so everyone nearby hears you scream.
  • New biomes: Friendly Foe has been teasing the Great Library and the Undergrowth.
  • Goblin cosmetics, a journal and achievements.
  • An actual ending: yes, you can finally reach one.

Who’s behind it?

Friendly Foe is a four-person studio in Sweden whose team has previously worked at Landfall, the studio behind Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, and Stunlock Studios, the developer of V Rising. Bright Gambit is a Stockholm-based games funding and go-to-market company.

According to publisher Bright Gambit, the game sold more than 200,000 copies during early access, which started in December 2024 and went through more than 20 updates. Friendly Foe says support will continue after launch, so today isn’t the end of the goblin story.

Worth a dive?

It’s on Game Pass, so the only thing you’re risking is your friendships. For the full rundown, see our Pit of Goblin everything we know guide and the Pit of Goblin hub. Check out the rest of this month’s Game Pass line-up, or head to the Friendly Foe website for more from the studio.
