GoldenEye 007 is out now on Xbox. Our latest news story is GoldenEye 007 and 13 More Games Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass.
What is GoldenEye 007?
It’s Rare’s classic James Bond first-person shooter, and the version on Xbox adds achievements and modern features while keeping the original gameplay. Starting at the Byelomorye Dam, you guide Bond through 20 campaign missions to stop the GoldenEye satellite. Each mission can be played on several difficulty levels, fast completions unlock cheat modes, and there’s split-screen multiplayer for up to four players on one console.
Who makes it, and when did it come out on Xbox?
Rare made the original game, and Code Mystics worked with Rare on this version, which Rare publishes on Xbox. It came out on Xbox on 27 January 2023, and it’s on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. You’ll find it on the Xbox Store.
Is GoldenEye 007 leaving Game Pass?
Yes. GoldenEye 007 leaves Xbox Game Pass on Sunday 15 November 2026. It’s in the Leaving soon section of Game Pass in the Xbox app, and the Game Pass data on its Xbox Store listing ends its access on the morning of 16 November (UK time), so 15 November is the last full day to play. Until then it’s included with Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass Premium. Xbox hadn’t announced this batch on Xbox Wire when we checked on 2 November 2026; TrueAchievements reports the same date.
There’s one way to keep playing without buying it separately: if you’ve bought a digital copy of Rare Replay on your Xbox account, you can download and play GoldenEye 007 free, with or without Game Pass, according to Xbox Wire. Physical copies of Rare Replay don’t count.
For the full list, see our story: GoldenEye 007 and 13 More Games Are Leaving Xbox Game Pass. Once it leaves, you’ll need to buy GoldenEye 007 to keep playing, but any achievements you’ve unlocked stay on your profile.
Is it on Xbox Cloud Gaming and Xbox Play Anywhere?
You can stream it with Xbox Cloud Gaming while it’s in Game Pass. It isn’t an Xbox Play Anywhere game, and there’s no PC version on Xbox; it’s console and cloud only. The Store lists Xbox cloud saves.
How many achievements does GoldenEye 007 have?
GoldenEye 007 has 55 achievements worth 1,000 Gamerscore, according to XboxAchievements. The XboxAchievements roadmap rates the full 1,000G at 7/10 for difficulty and estimates 15 to 20+ hours. You need to clear every mission on each difficulty, as difficulty achievements don’t stack, and turning on any unlocked cheat disables achievements.
Everything we’ve written about the game is in one place on our GoldenEye 007 hub, and we’ll keep this page updated if anything changes.
