OD is a horror game from Kojima Productions and Xbox Game Studios. The official pitch says it “explores the concept of testing your fear threshold, and what it means to OD on fear”, while “blurring the boundaries of gaming and film”.

Is there a new OD trailer?

No. The latest reveal, on 30 October 2026, is a new poster for OD – Knock, first shown at Kojima Productions’ Beyond The Strand exhibition in Tokyo and then shared by Kojima on X. It credits Lillis, Kier and Schafer, and brings back the tagline “For all players and screamers”. Our OD – Knock poster story has the details.

The most recent trailer is still the OD – Knock teaser from September 2025:

What is OD – Knock?

Knock is the subtitle on Kojima’s part of OD. It was revealed with a teaser trailer at Kojima Productions’ Beyond The Strand event in September 2025, which the studio described as a “brand-new teaser trailer” for OD, “presented with XBOX GAME STUDIOS”. Xbox Wire ran it as “OD – Knock: Watch the Teaser Trailer from Kojima Productions”.

The teaser centres on a red door. Kojima Productions says a knock on the door is followed by a card dropping through the gap between the door and the wall, and its Japanese account describes the red door as something that appears in the game.

Reported, not official: at that September 2025 event, Kojima said Peele will do “a different kind of fear” and that “mine is the knock”, according to Game Informer, citing IGN. Neither Kojima Productions nor Xbox has explained how the parts of OD fit together.

Who is in the cast?

Sophia Lillis, Hunter Schafer and Udo Kier play the lead roles. All three were named in the first OD teaser in December 2023, and all three are credited on the October 2026 poster.

At the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 Broadcast in September 2026, Kojima showed behind-the-scenes footage of Lillis and Schafer in a performance capture session.

Udo Kier died in November 2025. In his tribute on X, Kojima wrote that a strike had stopped the team shooting OD for a long time, forcing it to reschedule to the following year, and that Kier had told him how much he was looking forward to the shoot starting up again.

Is Jordan Peele involved?

Yes. When OD was announced, Kojima Productions and Xbox Game Studios said Academy Award-winning filmmaker Jordan Peele, director of Get Out, Us and Nope, “will be one of several talented storytellers involved in the project”. Peele isn’t credited on the OD – Knock poster.

Who is making OD?

Kojima Productions is making it with Xbox Game Studios. Xbox first announced a partnership with the studio in June 2022, describing a game for Xbox “like no one has ever experienced or seen before leveraging the power of the cloud”. At the 2023 reveal, Kojima said: “We are working with Xbox Game Studios and their cloud gaming technology to take on the challenge of creating a very unique, immersive, and totally new style of game – or rather, a new form of media.”

The new poster carries logos for Xbox, MetaHuman, 3Lateral, Unreal Engine and Kojima Productions.

In September 2026, Xbox announced it will also publish PHYSINT, Kojima Productions’ action-espionage game, expanding a relationship that already included OD. Kojima said the deal “expands our relationship with XBOX beyond OD”, and the two companies will also work together on film and television.

When is OD coming out?

There’s no release date or release window yet. Kojima Productions calls OD – Knock “currently in development”.

Will OD be on Game Pass?

Not confirmed. Xbox hasn’t announced any Game Pass plans for OD, so we’ll update this page if that changes.

Can I see OD anywhere right now?

If you’re in Tokyo, yes. Kojima Productions’ 10th anniversary exhibition, Beyond The Strand, runs at Azabudai Hills Gallery from 31 October to 20 December 2026. It includes a full-size recreation of the OD – Knock red door, where visitors get a knock and a card through the gap, plus props used during filming on public display for the first time.

We’ll keep this page updated, and our OD hub has everything in one place. For the latest, read Kojima’s new OD – Knock poster.
