Planted!, a chaotic party game for one to four players where you sow, grow and throw your crops at goals and at each other, is out now on Xbox Series X|S for £14.99 / $17.99.
It’s developed by Cardiff studio Cloth Cat Games and published by Curveball Games, the publishing division of Curveball Leisure Group, which was formed in 2025. The team calls it “horticultural combat”: part harvesting sim, part sports game.
Sow, grow and throw
Each match drops you into a garden arena. You claim a patch, plant your crops and grow them, then throw the produce at goals to score points. Fertiliser grows colossal crops worth more points, but the bigger the crop, the bigger the target on your back, and you can steal from your rivals’ patches too.
There are 12 power-ups to use, including weed bombs, spud turrets and green clones, and a cast of characters to pick from, each with their own personality and style.
Eight arenas and a story mode
Planted! has eight arenas, ranging from windy mountainsides and caves to half-built skyscrapers, volcanoes and farmyards, each with its own twists. You can play with friends in local and online multiplayer, or on your own in a single-player story mode with challenges and boss battles.
From prototype to release
Ben Cawthorne, Creative Producer at Cloth Cat Games, said: “What started as a fun prototype for us to test out our weird and wacky ideas on, has become a game the whole team has poured so much heart and soul into.”
Ed Gregory, Senior Publishing Manager at Curveball Games, called it “the perfect game to boot up with your friends as you throw giant carrots (or onions, their choice) at one another.”
