Session: Skate Sim’s latest city is Barcelona. The new map DLC is out now on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One for £6.59 / $7.99.
Nacon and creā-ture Studios released the Barcelona DLC for Session: Skate Sim on 28 October. The skateboarding sim is now in its fourth year, and the studio says more than 4 million players have tried it.
The skateboarding capital of Europe
After Paris, Prague and California, Barcelona is the next stop, and it’s an obvious one. The city’s marble plazas, long ledges and year-round sunshine have made it a fixture in skate videos for decades, and the DLC is built around that reputation.
The pack adds the Barcelona map plus seven new items for the object dropper, so you can build your own setups around the city’s spots.
Still growing three years on
Session: Skate Sim launched out of Game Preview on Xbox in September 2022. Since then, it has had eight paid content packs and numerous updates, with creā-ture saying it keeps refining the game’s systems based on community feedback.
The core idea hasn’t changed. Session is about 1990s street skating, with no scoring system. Each analogue stick controls one of your feet, so you have to learn to shift your weight and flick the board much like you would on a real skateboard. It’s tough at first, and that’s the point. There’s also a built-in video editor for turning your best lines into clips.
