By Cult of the Lamb is getting a new story expansion called Woolhaven, and it now has a confirmed release date. During the Midwinter Showcase, the team revealed that Woolhaven launches on January 22, 2026, with pre orders going live today.
Cult of the Lamb was one of my favourite games when it originally launched, so it’s great to see it getting a proper meaty expansion rather than just small updates. Woolhaven adds a full winter themed area to explore, along with new cult systems that push the management side of the game further.
The expansion centres around the God of Winter, Yngya, and a frozen settlement called Woolhaven. You’ll be tasked with recovering the souls of fallen Lambs scattered across the mountains. Each soul you return makes Yngya stronger, so progress comes with added risk.
Cold and survival play a bigger role this time. Followers can freeze if they’re not properly cared for, meaning new meals, clothing, decor, and warmth focused buildings actually matter. There’s also some lighter stuff mixed in, like snowball fights and hot tubs for your cult.
Base building is being expanded too, with more space and new structures. Highlights include the Exorcism Altar, which lets you reroll Follower traits, and the Work Tent, which allows you to assign even more jobs around your cult.
There are two new dungeons coming with Woolhaven. Ewefall is a snowy mountain area ruled by Marchosias and the Free Pack, while The Rot is a disturbing underground dungeon filled with corrupted, mutating enemies. Both look like they’ll add a very different tone to the existing areas.
Woolhaven arrives on January 22, 2026, and if Cult of the Lamb hooked you the first time around, this looks like a really strong reason to jump back in.
