The Zibbo Show is out now on Xbox. It’s a dice-based roguelike deckbuilder set inside a retro TV game show, where the smiling host and bright lights hide the fact that losing could cost contestants their lives.
Madrid studio Tessera Studios developed and published it, its first self-published game. It costs £17.99 / $19.99 and is an Xbox Play Anywhere title, so it covers Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC.
Dice on a 3×3 board
You and each opponent get a 3×3 board and nine dice, and take turns placing one die at a time. Matching values in a column multiply your score, while placing the right dice opposite an enemy column destroys theirs. Before each match you place a bet: win and you double it, lose and it’s gone.
Build your run
Between matches you spend your prize money in the shop on cards, dice upgrades and chips. Cards change how a build scores, individual dice faces can be upgraded with new effects, and single-use chips let you interfere directly with your rival’s game. There are 48 cards to collect across runs.
A run is 12 rounds of increasingly dangerous opponents, ending with Zibbo himself in the grand finale. Lose at the wrong moment and a Spin of Luck ticket gives you another shot at the same opponent, with time to revisit the shop and adjust your build.
