What is Karate Survivor?
It’s a fast-paced survivor-style roguelite inspired by ’80s martial arts films. You’re a martial arts master fighting off endless goons and bandits on the streets, and everything around you is a weapon.
How does combat work?
You can grab improvised weapons such as baseball bats, mop handles, plastic flamingos or a toy hammer, and use the environment by pushing objects at enemies, bringing down scaffolding or slamming them with a microwave door. Dozens of attacks can be combined into combos of up to six moves.
Is there progression between runs?
Yes. You collect experience to unlock and master permanent techniques and skills, and the game has several locations, each with boss battles.
What happened to the Creators Edition?
Karate Survivor first came to Xbox as a Creators Edition. The upgraded version released on 28 October 2026 replaces it, and everyone who owns the Creators Edition gets the upgraded version free. Read our report on the upgrade.
Is it on Xbox Play Anywhere?
Yes. The upgraded version supports Xbox Play Anywhere, so you can play on Xbox consoles and PC with shared saves and achievements.
How much does it cost?
£4.99 / $5.99.
Is Karate Survivor on Game Pass?
No, it isn’t part of Game Pass.
