Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember

Wo Long 2: Wings of Ember is Team NINJA’s sequel to Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, its dark fantasy action RPG set in China’s Three Kingdoms period. With the land split between three factions and heroes fighting for their own beliefs, you play a warrior with the power of the phoenix, crossing endless battlefields overrun by grotesque demons.

As in the first game, the combat is built on Chinese martial arts, now evolved further, and you fight across the Three Kingdoms alongside famous heroes of the era. Divine Beasts return too. You can play solo or team up in online co-op for two to three players, with cross-platform co-op between Xbox console and PC.

Team NINJA develops it and KOEI TECMO publishes it. Fights lean on perfectly timed deflects that neutralise enemy attacks, and Insight Skills let you evade, use the terrain to counter and shift the momentum when you’re outnumbered. The open fields take in famous battlegrounds such as Changban and the Red Cliffs, so the history lesson comes with rather more demons than usual.
