E.S.D.E., a dark first-person extraction game set in a world where most of humanity has vanished, launches on Xbox Series X|S on 3 December 2026.

JanduSoft is publishing E.S.D.E., which is made by K148 Game Studio, a solo developer. It’s a single-player mix of extraction and psychological horror. You head into abandoned zones, grab whatever valuables you can find and try to get back out before something gets you.

What’s left of humanity

Most of the population has disappeared, and the people who stayed behind have turned into “anomalies”: soulless creatures that used to be human. What little technology is left belongs to merchants, and they’ll only trade it for treasures pulled out of the zones where the anomalies live. So that’s your job.

There are six zones to explore, from huge apartment blocks to an abandoned school, and seven types of anomaly, each with its own look and behaviour. You’ll often run into more than one type on the same expedition, so learning how each one acts is a big part of the game. Some threats can be avoided by putting your mask on in time so they don’t spot you.

It isn’t just former humans, either. Insects in each zone have grown to a dangerous size and turned aggressive, and you’re warned not to step on a swarm of the smaller ones.

Gear, guns and hired help

Everything you bring back gets sold to merchants, and the money goes on equipment for the next run. That includes an audio recorder and a camera for gathering evidence on the anomalies, and a modified shotgun for when you’d rather just get rid of them. You can also pay other seekers to join your operations and improve your odds, although you’ll spend most of your time in the zones on your own.
