Xbox Play Anywhere is available now for Dumb Ways to Build, letting you carry your construction-site chaos between Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC.

The official Dumb Ways to Die account announced the update on 5 November, confirming that save data, certifications and cosmetics now sync between the two. You can switch from your Xbox console to Xbox PC and pick up where you left off, without buying the game again.

Your next Crisis Job can follow you

In its official update notes, the team says full Xbox Play Anywhere support is now enabled between Windows PC and Xbox Series X|S. That means the progress you have already made — including your certifications and unlocked cosmetics — can come with you when you change devices.

This is not just an announcement waiting to appear on the shop: the UK Xbox Store already displays the Xbox Play Anywhere badge. The update notes list version 4.0.204 for Xbox Series X|S and version 4.0.3 for Xbox PC.

Dumb Ways to Build on Xbox at a glance

  • Available now: Released on 10 September 2026
  • Xbox console: Xbox Series X|S
  • Xbox Play Anywhere: Supported with Windows PC
  • Developer and publisher: Dumb Ways to Die
  • UK price: £6.69

Building bridges, breaking safety rules

If you have not clocked in yet, Dumb Ways to Build is a physics-based construction game from developer and publisher Dumb Ways to Die. You tackle dangerous Crisis Jobs, using loose objects as building materials and a nail gun to cobble together bridges, ramps and whatever else might get you out of the worksite.

You can brave the jobs solo or team up online. The hazards are part of the challenge, but so are the tools: a useful bit of construction equipment can just as easily send a colleague flying. Customisable Bean characters and unlockable cosmetics round out the workplace mayhem.

Dumb Ways to Build is already out on Xbox Series X|S, having launched on 10 September 2026. It costs £6.69 on the UK Xbox Store, which now lists Xbox Play Anywhere support. The console listing is for Series X|S, rather than Xbox One.
