Cat Me If You Can is coming to Xbox Series X|S on 10 December 2026. Cosmic Stag Games’ cosy hidden-cat puzzle adventure will ask you to photograph hundreds of cats and bring the colour of their fur back to a world frozen in black and white.

Berlin studio Cosmic Stag Games is publishing the game itself on Xbox. Future Friends Games circulated the console date to press on 5 November 2026. The Xbox Store listing is live with a 10 December release date, PEGI 3, and Optimised for Xbox Series X|S. A price has not been listed on the Store yet, and there is no confirmation that the game is heading to Game Pass.

A camera, a frozen world, and a lot of cats

The premise is simple and strangely soothing. After a mysterious event freezes the world in black and white, only you and your trusty in-game instant camera can restore the colour of cats’ fur, one picture at a time. Some furballs sit in plain sight. Others hide behind riddles, locked doors and curious contraptions, so you will need a sharp eye and a bit of puzzle-solving to finish the collection.

According to the Xbox Store and Cosmic Stag’s own site, you will explore handcrafted 3D worlds inspired by black-and-white comic and manga art. Destinations called out in the Store copy include the sands of Ancient Egypt, the streets of modern Japan and the quiet corners of medieval castles. Official materials put the headcount at more than 725 cats to find and photograph across nine handcrafted levels in three themed worlds, with more than 50 quests and puzzles along the way.

What to expect on Xbox

Cat Me If You Can is a single-player cosy exploration and photography puzzle game. The Store lists Xbox achievements, Xbox presence and cloud saves as capabilities, and it is marked Optimised for Xbox Series X|S. Cosmic Stag Games appears as both developer and publisher on the Xbox listing. The studio is based in Berlin as Cosmic Stag Games GmbH.

Until a confirmed Xbox achievement list and Gamerscore appear, we are not going to invent numbers. Same rule for Game Pass: unless Microsoft or Cosmic Stag say otherwise, treat it as not on the service.
