Assassin’s Creed fans are getting a check-in on the series this week. The official Assassin’s Creed account said on X that on Thursday 29 October, Head of Content Jean Guesdon “will share another update on what’s ahead for Assassin’s Creed”. The graphic attached to the post calls it the “Fall 2026 Update”.
Don’t expect a big reveal, though. Ubisoft says up front: “While there won’t be any major reveals, we want to keep you informed on the franchise’s progress.” Ubisoft hasn’t said what time it goes up or where. The post also doesn’t mention a video, although the graphic shows Guesdon on camera.
Why “another” update?
This is Guesdon’s second update of the year. He took on the Head of Content role early in 2026, and in March Ubisoft published Assassin’s Creed: Into 2026, his first roadmap-style overview. It covered:
- Codename Hexe: described as a “darker, narrative-driven” Assassin’s Creed from Ubisoft Montreal, with Guesdon now its creative director too. Ubisoft said the team would “be quiet for a little longer”.
- Codename Invictus: a player-versus-player multiplayer Assassin’s Creed from For Honor veterans at Ubisoft Montreal, being built “with a test and learn approach”.
- Co-op: Ubisoft said it was “looking into bringing co-op back to Assassin’s Creed”.
- The Netflix live-action series, with more news promised then.
Ubisoft also said at the time that it had “recently chose[n] to pivot away from an early project”. It added: “What matters most to us is giving each project the time it deserves and releasing them when they are ready.” Given Thursday’s “no major reveals” warning, a progress report on those same projects seems more likely than new trailers. That’s our reading, though, and Ubisoft hasn’t confirmed it.
Before Thursday: Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced gets its New Game+ update on Tuesday 27 October, with Nightmare Mode and new treasure as well. Full story: Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced update adds New Game+ and Nightmare Mode tomorrow.
What we know for Xbox players
Black Flag Resynced is the latest game in the series. It launched on Xbox Series X|S in July and is on the Microsoft Store at £49.99 / $59.99. Ubisoft didn’t name platforms for Hexe or Invictus in its March update. If Thursday’s update changes that, or turns out to be bigger than Ubisoft suggests, we’ll cover it.
