Assassin’s Creed Freedom Cry is a story expansion for Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag. Set in the French colony of Saint-Domingue, present-day Haiti, between 1735 and 1737, it follows Adéwalé, a former slave who became Edward Kenway’s quartermaster and later an Assassin. Shipwrecked without weapons or crew, he must gather a new crew and a ship and fight to free the enslaved people of the colony.
It keeps Black Flag’s stealth, combat and sailing, with over three hours of new single-player content. On Xbox it is downloadable content for Black Flag rather than a standalone game, and was released for Xbox 360 and Xbox One on 17 December 2013.
