Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag is set in the West Indies during the Golden Age of Piracy, between 1715 and 1722. It follows Edward Kenway, a Welsh pirate and the grandfather of Assassin’s Creed III’s Connor, as he hunts for fortune and a mythical site known as the Observatory while caught up in the war between Assassins and Templars.
Alongside on-foot stealth and combat, a large part of the game is spent at sea, captaining the ship Jackdaw, fighting naval battles and exploring the Caribbean. Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, it launched on Xbox 360 on 29 October 2013 and on Xbox One on 22 November 2013.
