Beyond The Evil is out now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It’s a first-person mystery horror game with no combat, where you explore an isolated estate and solve puzzles to uncover a sinister experiment.
It costs £10.74 / $12.99. Publisher QUByte Interactive has announced a 15% discount for the first 15 days, though the store was still showing the full price when we checked.
A case in Pennsylvania
You play private investigator Gary Nephew, sent to a remote estate in Pennsylvania where illegal biological research is under way. Your partner, Lukas Smith, stays on the phone with you as you dig into a contagion and the fate of the Juniper family.
No weapons, just logic
Developer BlackHawk Games has left out combat entirely. Instead, you explore the house and grounds, examine objects, collect clues, find keys, crack numerical locks and open safes. A moral choice near the end decides whether you reach the Good Ending or the Sad Ending.
