U.S. Army Researches Cloud Game Streaming with NVIDIA GeForce NOW

The U.S. Army is exploring the potential of cloud game streaming to improve its training and simulation capabilities. The Army is collaborating with NVIDIA to use its GeForce NOW service, which allows users to stream high-fidelity PC games from the cloud to any device, including low-end computing devices at the point of need.

The Army is currently researching the efficacy of Army-relevant game streaming with GeForce NOW from on-site NVIDIA server hardware capable of supporting a large-scale multiplayer game streaming to a variety of devices, in conjunction with a larger cloud-based use case. This research will inform how these technologies can be exploited by the Synthetic Training Environment (STE), which is the next-generation Army training system that replaces legacy game-based training solutions.

The Army will present its in-progress insights and recommendations for the future at the NVIDIA GTC 2023 conference, where NVIDIA and its partners demonstrate how NVIDIA technologies help solve the world’s toughest computing, scientific and engineering challenges.
