This GeForce NOW Thursday is filled with exciting news from CES 2023, including the launch of the Ultimate membership tier, new partnerships and of course games. While the recent CES announcements have been dominating the news, there’s still plenty more to be excited about in the world of GeForce NOW. This week, five new games are being added to the cloud, with another 19 set to join throughout January. This week’s additions to the GeForce NOW library include the games Portal and Scott Pilgram.
If you missed the CES announcements, here’s a quick recap: GeForce NOW is bringing the power of the NVIDIA RTX 4080 to the platform, starting soon. With this new addition, frame rates will be increasing to an impressive 240 fps and support for ultrawide screen monitors will be available. The previous 3080 tier has been rebranded as the Ultimate tier, and the best news is that there will be no price increase for users. This means that users can enjoy all of the benefits of the Ultimate tier, including higher frame rates, wider screen support, and access to the latest NVIDIA RTX technologies, at the same price as before. It looks like one of the things that I was hoping for from GeForce NOW was for the platform to announce games further in advance. It seems that this wish has been granted with the announcement of Atomic Heart, The Day Before, and Party Animals, which are expected to be added to the platform later this year. This early announcement gives users time to plan and look forward to these upcoming releases, and it also allows for anticipation and excitement to build for these games. It is always exciting to see new games being added to a platform, and it seems that GeForce NOW is working to keep its users informed and hopefully this is the start of games announced even further ahead of time.
NVIDIA has announced a partnership with AT&T that will offer users of the telecommunications company a 6-month membership Ultimate Membership for free. There are terms and conditions with so it is best checking that out!
Moving onto the games of this week, and five new titles will be added to the GeForce NOW library. These games are : –
● Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game Complete Edition (New release on Steam, Jan. 5)
● Carrier Command 2 (Steam)
● Project Hospital (Steam)
● Portal with RTX (Steam)
● Severed Steel (Epic Games Store)
In Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game Complete Edition, players control one of four characters – Scott Pilgrim, Ramona Flowers, Kim Pine, or Stephen Stills – as they fight their way through waves of enemies and boss battles. Each character has their own unique moves and abilities, and players can switch between characters on the fly to suit their playstyle. The game features retro-style graphics and a catchy soundtrack, as well as a variety of unlockables and secrets to discover. We thought this game would come out to GFN in December!
Carrier Command 2 is a real-time strategy game set in a futuristic world where players take control of a carrier ship and its crew. The game is set in the year 2040, and players must navigate a world filled with danger and intrigue as they build their carrier, gather resources, and lead their crew to victory.
In Carrier Command 2, players must carefully balance the needs of their carrier and crew as they explore a vast open world. The game features a variety of vehicles, including planes, boats, and ground vehicles, each with their own unique capabilities. Players can use these vehicles to gather resources, scout out new territory, and engage in combat with enemy forces. This is the second game from legendary publisher Microprose!
oject Hospital is a simulation game that puts players in the role of a hospital manager. The game tasks players with building and managing their own hospital, from the ground up. Players must design and build their facility, hire and manage staff, and treat patients in order to keep their hospital running smoothly.
In Project Hospital, players must juggle a variety of tasks in order to keep their hospital running efficiently. This includes managing staff, setting schedules, and making sure that the hospital is well-stocked with supplies. Players must also attend to the needs of patients, diagnosing and treating a variety of ailments using a range of medical equipment and procedures.
Portal with RTX is a reimagining of the classic first-person puzzle game, Portal, with support for real-time ray tracing and DLSS 3. The game has been built using a revolutionary modding tool called NVIDIA RTX Remix, which brings the test chambers of Portal’s “Aperture Science” to life with stunning visuals and realistic lighting.
In Portal with RTX, players must navigate a series of increasingly difficult puzzles using the iconic portal gun. This device allows players to create portals that can be used to move through space and solve challenges. The game’s use of ray tracing technology adds a new level of realism to the game, with light bouncing and being affected by each area’s high-resolution, physically based textures and enhanced high-poly models.
Portal with RTX is sure to be an exciting and immersive experience on the NVIDIA 3080, but it is expected to truly shine on the 4080. The use of real-time ray tracing and DLSS 3 technologies brings a new level of realism and detail to the game, and the additional power of the 4080 will allow players to experience these features at their full potential.
Severed Steel is a fast-paced first-person shooter set in a post-apocalyptic world. The game takes place in a world where humanity has been ravaged by a mysterious virus, and players must fight to survive against waves of mutated monsters and other dangers.
In Severed Steel, players take on the role of a soldier fighting to survive in a world gone mad. The game features a variety of weapons and equipment that players can use to take down their enemies, including guns, explosives, and other high-tech tools. Players must carefully manage their resources and use their skills and strategy to emerge victorious against the relentless horde of enemies that stand in their way. This was part of the Epic Free Games so I hoped you picked it up!
