GeForce NOW Thursday: From Far Cry to the Galaxies and Beyond

Far Cry 6

Our October update for GeForce NOW is here and there is a month of some big games on the horizon, it all starts now! We have big hitters from Far Cry 6, Guardians of the Galaxy and Riders Republic. Including those titles, there’s 23 coming to the service this month.

It’s a great month ahead with some fantastic titles being added, so let’s take a look at what is coming.

F.I.S.T: Forged in Shadow Torch

For the second month running, GeForce NOW snaps up a Playstation console exclusive and brings it to life in the cloud. A game that our very own Maker of Chaos gave us all a first look at on our YouTube Channel.

Six years ago, the Machine Legion invaded and colonized the Torch City, which was originally inhabited by animals. Rayton, the former soldier in the resistance war, has been living in seclusion since then. After his friend is forcibly arrested, Rayton reclaims his mechanical fist and steps to his journey fighting back. And he never expects that he has been involved in a bigger scheme between the mafia, the rebellion, and the legion.

Exploring the Metroidvania game world with a dozen of areas with distinguishing vision themes and level designs. Earning the rewards by conquering the challenges of combats, puzzles and platformers in countless chambers, tunnels and shortcuts.
Interconnected and automatically loading game map makes the detailed Torch City more convincing and beautiful.

Far Cry 6

Welcome to Yara, a tropical paradise frozen in time. As the dictator of Yara, Antón Castillo is intent on restoring his nation back to its former glory by any means, with his son, Diego, following in his bloody footsteps. Their oppressive rule has ignited a revolution.

  • Play as Dani Rojas, a local Yaran, as you fight alongside a modern-day guerrilla revolution to liberate Yara!
  • Fight against Castillo’s regime in the most expansive Far Cry® to date, through jungles, beaches, and Esperanza, the capital city of Yara.
  • Employ an arsenal of resolver weapons, backpacks, and vehicles to take down Castillo’s ruthless regime.

Duncan checked this out on launch day and we’ll have footage up on our YouTube channel shortly for people to get a glimpse into what to expect from the latest instalment in the Far Cry series. Have you got what it takes to liberate Yara and free the people of Giancarlo Esposito’s twisted character?

In addition to the above titles, we’re also getting the full game streaming experience with the following titles this week.

Not enough games for you? Well don’t worry, GeForce NOW have got you covered with the remaining titles which will be available on the service in the month of October.

Originally in addition to the above, Buccaneers was listed to be coming to the service, however on the Steam page there is a notification showing that this game is seemingly now arriving in February 2022, so watch this space on that one!

There feels like only one way we can end this week’s post for #GFNThursday. That is with this…. ENJOY! Are you excited for Guardians and all it’s RTX goodness? Let us know!

Along with that Nvidia confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy will also get RTX when the game releases and Chivarly 2 will get RTX when it becomes available at a later date. In order to get RTX, you will need a Founders or Priority membership.

Dying Light 2 is the follow-up to the well-received Dying Light and you will be able to pick up the Epic Game Store or Steam version of the game at launch. The game is due to launch on December 7th.

Chivalry 2 is already available on GeForce Now and we had a first look at the game below. There is no date of when RTX will be added.

NVIDIA DLSS guarantees that as the battle rages on, our players will always get maximum performance and visual fidelity.” – Brian Etheridge, Publishing Director, Tripwire Interactive

GeForce Now: 10 New Games and E3 Updates

As soon as it came around, E3 has, for the most part, wrapped up and gone again. For cloud gaming, the future has never looked better. Stadia has confirmed games reaching into 2022 and Xbox has dived all in with their upcoming exclusives. So where does that leave GeForce Now? Well, let me tell you.

Humanity is in Your Hands

Hot off the E3 press, SEGA and Amplitude Studios’ Humankind saw some action in the form of a Closed Beta before it’s release this August. Even better, if you have Closed Beta access, you’ll be able to play it through GFN from today (17th June) until the 21st June. This includes beta access through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Sweet!

What a Bunch of A-Holes…

Another E3 title landing day-and-date onto the cloud later this year is Square Enix’s Marvel’s Guardians of The Galaxy, or as we’re referring to it: GOTG (short but sweet). After their previous Marvel release, GOTG will focus solely on the single-player aspect as you play as Star-Lord with his merry band of space fighters. Embrace the chaos of a multitude of mind-blowing worlds and save the universe in your own explosive way. You got this! Probably. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy will be available through Steam on the 26th October this year.

Updates from the Clouds

Some more quality of life updates are coming very shortly to GFN also. Soon enough, you’ll be able to access in-stream statistics through the overlay and menus, as well as some work behind the scenes to improve latency for games that support Adaptive Vsync. Alongside this, there will be a keyboard input method editor, which is great to see.

Also of note, the sign-up window for GFN’s E3 Priority offer has now closed. If you got those free days and haven’t used them, don’t panic! You’ll have up until the 30th June to do so.

As a special E3 offer, new GeForce NOW free members received three days of priority access to the service. While the sign-up window has closed, members have until June 30 to redeem this offer and enjoy priority perks that elevate the GeForce NOW gaming experience, including front-of-line access to gaming servers, extended session lengths, and RTX ON for beautiful ray-traced graphics.

More Games!

You didn’t think you’d lose out on some more titles coming to GFN did you? Good! This week, 10 new titles will be added including the Humankind Closed Beta another day-and-date release and an Epic Games Store freebie!

This week’s day-and-date release comes from Nacon, with a little help from Magic: The Gathering’s creator, Richard Garfield. This charming roguelike deckbuilder shares some similarities between indie gem For the King, and sees you attempt to take on the Roguebook.

You are trapped in the Book of Lore of Faeria, and each page represents a new challenge. Lead your two heroes to victory in this roguelike deckbuilder developed in partnership with Richard Garfield, creator of Magic: The Gathering™. Put together the best synergies between cards, relics and abilities, and take on the Roguebook.

The Universim

Managing one civilisation not enough for you? Fancy managing worlds instead? Well, you can! Crytivo’s The Universim is a sandbox city builder that allows you to take control and guide all the civilisations through the various ages. Currently still in early access, The Universim has been shaped by the community that have played it, and now it can be enjoyed through GFN.

Your time is coming. Guide a fledgling civilization through the obstacles of life. From humble beginnings, watch as they evolve and advance throughout the ages under your wing. Influence their decisions and punish the unfaithful with a wide range of godly abilities. Interact with objects, create disasters, and launch clueless creatures into orbit. This is your world, and nothing can stop you from having fun.

The Universim is available now through Steam.
