At CES 2025, KRAFTON revealed Co-Playable Characters (CPCs)—AI companions developed in collaboration with NVIDIA using their ACE (Avatar Cloud Engine) technology. These AI characters will first appear in the PUBG franchise and KRAFTON’s sci-fi project inZOI.
Unlike traditional NPCs that follow scripted actions, CPCs use Small Language Models (SLMs) to adapt in real time, reacting to in-game situations and working alongside players like an actual teammate. This means more dynamic AI interactions, with characters that can strategize, assist, and respond based on what’s happening in the game.
What KRAFTON’s Move Means
KRAFTON has already confirmed plans to expand this technology across its gaming portfolio. Whether it’s more PUBG-style shooters or completely new projects, this AI integration could become a core feature in KRAFTON’s future games.
Could This Bring KRAFTON Games to GeForce NOW?
KRAFTON’s collaboration with NVIDIA raises the question: if NVIDIA ACE becomes a bigger part of KRAFTON’s games, could we see more of their titles make their way to GeForce NOW? The partnership already shows how closely the two companies are working to integrate NVIDIA’s tech into KRAFTON’s games. If NVIDIA’s AI-powered features become essential to future titles, adding those games to NVIDIA’s cloud platform seems like a logical next step.
Final Thoughts
KRAFTON’s CPC announcement highlights how publishers are beginning to adopt AI-driven features in their biggest franchises. With NVIDIA powering the backend, it’s worth wondering whether this will lead to deeper integration with GeForce NOW in the future.
For now, though, the idea of smarter AI companions in PUBG and inZOI is a notable shift in how games are designed—and maybe just the start of more NVIDIA-backed collaborations.
