That annoying white dot in the middle of your screen while playing GeForce NOW on Meta Quest? That’s the “gaze cursor,” and while it can be useful in some VR apps, it’s often a distraction when cloud gaming. Thankfully, you can easily disable it! Here’s how:
Why Disable the Gaze Cursor?
The gaze cursor is designed for interacting with VR environments using your head movement. However, when you’re using a gamepad to play GeForce NOW, the gaze cursor becomes redundant and can interfere with your gameplay.
Steps to Disable the Gaze Cursor
- Access Meta Quest Settings: While wearing your Meta Quest headset, press the Oculus button on your right controller to open the universal menu. From here, select the Settings icon.
- Go to Movement Tracking: In the Settings menu, find and select the option called “Movement Tracking.”
- Disable Controller Cursor: In the Movement Tracking menu, you’ll see an option to disable the controller cursor.
- Disable “Gaze Cursor”: You want to toggle the switch to the off position. This will disable the gaze cursor.
- Headset Restart: You may need to restart the headset for it to take effect.
Alternative Method (Using Gamepad):
If you prefer to use your gamepad, you can also toggle the gaze cursor on or off by simultaneously pressing the Start and Select buttons on your connected gamepad.
Enjoy a Dot-Free Experience!
With the gaze cursor disabled, you can now fully enjoy your GeForce NOW gaming sessions on Meta Quest without any visual distractions.
