GFN Thursday: Assassin’s Creed Shadows Leads a Packed Week With 11 New Games

A Huge Week for GeForce NOW

GeForce NOW is back with another big update, and this week, 11 new games are joining the cloud. Headlining the lineup is Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the latest entry in Ubisoft’s long-running series, alongside fan-favorite RPG Fable Anniversary and the high-speed destruction of Wreckfest 2.

It’s also a diverse week, with everything from tactical Xenomorph battles to high-speed aerial racing making their way to the service. Plus, some of these games are appearing on new storefronts for the first time, expanding how and where players can access their libraries.

Let’s break down everything new on GFN this week.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Now Streaming on GeForce NOW

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is officially live, bringing 16th-century Japan to GeForce NOW. Players take on the roles of Naoe, a stealth-focused shinobi, and Yasuke, a powerful samurai, in a dual-protagonist system that offers multiple approaches to gameplay.

In our early access testing, we found that Shadows runs great on GFN, with 1440p maxed settings + DLSS being the sweet spot. While the game starts a little slow, it improves significantly as you progress. However, one feature expected in the Animus is missing on GFN but available on xCloud.

We’ll have a full comparison coming soon between GeForce NOW, xCloud, and Amazon Luna, but let’s be honest—GFN is already the performance winner.

Fable Anniversary – A Classic Returns

With the Fable reboot delayed to 2026, Fable Anniversary gives fans something to dive into in the meantime. This remastered version of Fable: The Lost Chapters features HD visuals, an upgraded lighting system, and an all-new Heroic difficulty mode.

We love going back to older games and maxing out the settings, and Fable Anniversary is the perfect game for it. Whether you’re revisiting Albion or experiencing it for the first time, this is the definitive way to play Fable.

Wreckfest 2 – Pure Destruction

If you love crashing cars in the most chaotic way possible, Wreckfest 2 is here to deliver. The sequel to the fan-favorite destruction racer adds more vehicles, better physics, and skill-based multiplayer, along with a split-screen mode for classic couch competition.

The original Wreckfest was one of the best physics-driven racing games, and this one looks to take it even further. If you’re braking, you’re playing it wrong.

Final Thoughts – A Strong Week

We don’t usually judge GFN week to week, as the platform should be evaluated over a month or a year, but this is definitely a solid lineup.

With Assassin’s Creed Shadows leading the charge, Fable Anniversary offering a nostalgic RPG experience, and Wreckfest 2 bringing the chaos, there’s plenty to play.
