GeForce NOW Thursday – 10 games added

GeForce NOW,is rolling out its RTX 4080 SuperPODs, which bring a new level of high-performance gaming to the cloud. The rollout starts with San Jose, Los Angeles and Dallas in North America; and Frankfurt in Europe . New features are also available now for Ultimate members streaming from RTX 3080 servers, and members will be able to check GFN Thursday each week for availability updates in their regions. Additionally, 10 more games will be supported in the GeForce NOW library. 

We have been testing 4080 and have a full review of the upgrade. So, I recommend checking that out. Spoilers, it is fantastic and raises the bar even further however it may not be for everyone. So we are just going to be concentrating on the games joining GeForce NOW here.

Farlanders is a turn-based strategy game where players lead the charge in establishing a colony on Mars. The game features specialized tools to terraform the planet, build residential areas for colonizers, and construct resource-producing factories in an effort to create a self-sustaining society. Players must create a viable habitat by building water pumps, farms, harnessing the power of the sun and mining for precious minerals. They can also expand underground to uncover new areas, discover artifacts and harness rare minerals. The game has a terraforming system that allows players to shape the landscape to their advantage and change the weather conditions. Each playthrough features a procedurally generated map, providing new challenges and replayability. 

Surviving the Abyss is a game set in the Cold War era, where players are tasked with constructing and directing a deep sea research facility that is working to perfect human cloning. The game is set in the unforgiving abyss where players must maintain oxygen, power, food and more to keep their crew alive. Players must discover and mine resources for construction, light their way in the dark, and expand their base in order to advance their research. They must also capture the diverse, highly-adapted flora and fauna of the deep, but must beware of the unexpected horrors that lurk in the darkness. Players must lead a team of scientists conducting genetic experiments on local wildlife on the ocean floor, keep their population sane, obedient, and alive as they expand their base and discover the secrets of cloning and genetic research. They must also ensure the survival of their crew by planning, placing and building essential infrastructure for manufacturing, research, and life support. The game emphasizes on expanding and optimizing the base and its available resources, conquering the uneven terrain of the ocean floor with clever planning and vertical construction, building light pylons and pushing back the darkness to expand the base, securing resources far away from the main base by using exploration submarines and outposts and preventing disasters by making sure power does not fail, together with life support and light sources. 

Tortuga – A Pirate’s Tale is a turn-based strategy simulation game where players assume the role of a pirate captain with a desire for gold and glory. Players are given the task of commanding a fleet of pirate ships to strike the Caribbean, and must manage their crew, raid and voyage the Caribbean Sea, engage in tactical naval battles, upgrade their fleet, meet the needs of their crew, parley with infamous pirate legends, command historical ships and participate in a variety of quests. The game offers players the ability to customize their own flag and improve their skills and notoriety as they gain experience. It also features a variety of ships and a total of more than 25 hours of gameplay. 

Epistory – Typing Chronicles is a typing-based action/adventure game developed by Fishing Studio. The game features an open-world, 3D environment and a unique typing-based combat system. Players take on the role of a young girl who embarks on a journey to defeat a mysterious force that has overtaken the land. As players explore the world, they will encounter a variety of enemies that must be defeated by typing out words and phrases that appear on screen. Along the way, players will also collect power-ups and upgrades that will help them become more powerful and better able to defeat the game’s bosses. The game’s story is told through both in-game dialogue and through the unfolding of the game’s world. The game also features different endings depending on the player’s choices throughout the game. It is also free on Epic today 

Absolute Drift is a racing game developed by Funselektor Labs. The game features a unique drifting gameplay mechanics where players take control of a car and drift through a variety of challenging tracks. The game has a minimalist art style with a focus on precision driving, where players must master the art of drifting in order to achieve the best times and earn the highest scores. Players can also compete in time trials and leaderboard challenges to test their skills against other players. 

BLACKTAIL is a game where you play as Yaga, a 16-year-old girl who has been accused of witchcraft and expelled from a medieval Slavic settlement. The game features intense archery combat, magic, and dark storytelling set in a vibrant fairy tale world. The player must hunt down foul, walking spirits in order to unravel their own mystery. The player’s decisions impact their skills through the game’s morality system and they can craft arrows, potions, hunt wild game and gather resources to survive in the ominous woods. The player also has to find hidden treasures to learn more about their surroundings and history, collect lost recipes and brew elixirs to improve their abilities and shape their playstyle. The game also features thrilling boss fights. 

Arguably the most influential game today Dwarf Fortress is a simulation game that features a whole simulated world with generated rise and fall of civilizations, personalities, creatures, cultures, etc. It offers infinite hours of gameplay, with beautiful pixel graphics. The game includes in-game tutorials to help players learn the basics this is actually a big thing as the game is very complex and has just been added. Players can generate a unique world and manage a bustling colony of dwarves, even as they probably mine towards their eventual demise. It is a new endless hobby for players who enjoy building and management games. 

Hello Neighbor 2 is a game where you play as an investigative journalist named Quentin, who sneaks into crime scenes and people’s houses to find clues and evidence about the events that occurred in the original game. The game builds upon the formula of Hello Neighbor 1 and features a larger open world with multiple houses inhabited by suspicious characters. The player must sneak into the houses of these characters to gather information and track down the infamous creepy Neighbor, Mr Peterson. The game is set in the town of Raven Brooks, which serves as the player’s playground and is inhabited by AI-driven residents. 

Nebulous is a tactical space game where you take command of a fleet of space warships tailored to your playstyle and engage in intense battles with realistic simulations of kinetics and beam weapons, radar, and electronic warfare. Players can customize their fleet, weapons, and task units, and must make strategic decisions in real-time while navigating a fully 3-dimensional battlespace. The game emphasizes intelligence gathering and stealth, as well as thoughtful planning and precise execution. It features deep customization options, including the ability to design and configure individual ships and weapons. 

Aiko’s Choice is a stealth strategy game set in Japan during the early Edo period and is an expansion of the main game Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun. The game features the main protagonist Aiko, who is a master of camouflage and disguises herself as a Geisha. The player takes control of a team of five unique assassins, including Aiko, to sneak through enemy bases and camps. Players can choose their approach to infiltrate enemies and use the characters’ unique skills and tactics to outsmart them. The expansion includes three fully-fledged main missions and three shorter interlude missions. It’s not necessary to have the main game to play Aiko’s Choice, but it is recommended.
