GeForce NOW Expands to Apple Vision Pro and Mixed Reality Devices

Meta Quest 3 headset floating above an illuminated NVIDIA GeForce NOW platform, highlighting the upcoming cloud gaming support for mixed-reality devices.

NVIDIA’s bringing GeForce NOW to the Apple Vision Pro, Meta Quest 3/3S, and Pico headsets. At CES 2025, they announced that gamers will soon be able to stream RTX-powered PC games straight to their VR and mixed-reality headsets.

This announcement follows Xbox bringing Xcloud to Meta Quest, but NVIDIA’s approach goes further. Instead of console cloud streaming, GeForce NOW offers PC-level RTX performance. Think DLSS, ray tracing, and Reflex—all in a floating virtual theater, with no high-end gaming rig needed.

How It Works

You’ll access GeForce NOW through the browser on these headsets by navigating to play.geforcenow.com. Once logged in, you can stream your PC library in RTX quality. The latest GeForce NOW update (2.0.70), set to roll out this month, aims to make this process even smoother.

The streaming experience will support gamepad-compatible titles, meaning you can play PC games on a massive virtual display with minimal input lag if you’re using NVIDIA’s Ultimate membership tier.

Why This Matters

Xbox made an early move into VR cloud gaming with Xcloud on Quest headsets, but NVIDIA is aiming for something more ambitious—RTX-level PC gaming in virtual reality. Whether you’re using the premium Apple Vision Pro or the more budget-friendly Meta Quest 3, your headset becomes a giant floating screen for titles like Avowed or DOOM: The Dark Ages.

It’s not just about adding another platform—it’s about bringing PC-quality gaming anywhere, without being tied to a monitor.

Final Thoughts

NVIDIA’s expansion into mixed reality shows they’re serious about making cloud gaming ubiquitous. Does playing your favorite PC games in VR sound cool, or are you still team couch and TV? Either way, NVIDIA seems pretty convinced that your next gaming screen might not be a screen at all.
