DualSense on GeForce NOW: Is It Worth It?

DualSense on GeForce NOW: Is It Worth It?

Thinking about using your PS5’s DualSense controller with GeForce NOW? It’s definitely possible, but is it the best choice? Let’s weigh the pros and cons:

The Good

  • Comfort: The DualSense is widely praised for its comfortable design and ergonomics. If you’ve got big hands or just prefer the feel, this is a plus.
  • Familiarity: Already a PlayStation gamer? Sticking with what you know can be a big advantage in terms of muscle memory and comfort.
  • (Potential) Future Support: While not currently supported, GeForce NOW might add features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers down the line.

The Not-So-Good

  • No Haptics or Adaptive Triggers: As of right now, you miss out on the DualSense’s best features when using it with GeForce NOW.
  • Xbox-Centric Mapping: GeForce NOW defaults to Xbox button layouts. This can be confusing if you’re used to PlayStation controls.

The Verdict

If comfort and familiarity are your top priorities, the DualSense is a decent choice for GeForce NOW. However, if you’re looking for the full DualSense experience with haptics and adaptive triggers, you’ll be disappointed. For now, an Xbox controller or GeForce NOW’s own controller might be a better bet for seamless compatibility.
